      PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

      This hour-long presentation compares efficacy and cost of generic medications to branded medications, explores use of generic medications used to treat common acute and chronic conditions, and offers strategies for cost effective prescribing.
       

      EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

      After completion of this activity, the learner should be able to:

      • Compare the efficacy and cost of generic meds to branded medications for specific diseases/conditions
      • Discuss the use of generic medications to treat common acute and chronic diseases
      • Explain strategies for cost effective prescribing
